This variety of garnet, which is naturally occurring and unheated, is valued for its high brilliance, durability (7 to 7.5 on the Mohs scale), and high clarity, making it suitable for everyday jewelry. Some specimens are even nicknamed "padparadscha garnets" due to their unique peachy-pink coloration.
